Najvažniji Oskar - Oskar za najbolji film je otišao u ruke producenata filma „Dvanaest godina ropstva“. Fantastičan film „Gravitacija“ je odneo čak sedam priznanja Akademije, među kojima i je i priznanje za režiju. Leonardo diCaprio je nažalost opet ostao bez Oskara, jer jer laskavu statuu za najbolju glavnu ulogu dobio Matthew McConaughey za „Poslovni klub Dalas“. Lupita Nyong'o i Jared Leto su dobili Oskara za najbolje sporedne, a Cate Blanchett za najbolju glavnu glumicu.
